The Man Sienna Rescued Was Never a Victim
“You were supposed to be inside.”
The mechanic lost consciousness before Sienna could question him. She pulled him through the smoke and restrained the attacker.
Inside the attacker’s jacket was a remote detonator, a photograph of Sienna’s car and a schedule showing she was expected at the garage at 5:15. An anonymous message had asked her to inspect a vehicle connected to an old case. Traffic made her three minutes late.

Those three minutes saved her life.
Paramedics placed the mechanic in an ambulance. His identification named him as Raymond Keller, the shop’s owner. But dispatch revealed that the real Raymond Keller had died four months earlier.
A cloud backup from the shop’s cameras confirmed the deception. Before the explosion, the “mechanic” and the attacker had calmly rolled a metal case beneath the red sedan. The man Sienna risked her life to save had helped build the trap.
His final words were not a warning. He was shocked she had survived.
Sienna ran outside, but the ambulance doors were open and the stretcher empty. The false mechanic had vanished.
Before investigators towed the burned sedan, Sienna found a fire-resistant plate beneath its driver’s seat. Behind it was a sealed metal capsule untouched by the flames.
Inside was a photograph of six agents from Operation Hollowpoint, a classified mission abandoned two years earlier. Five faces were crossed out. Each agent had later died in what authorities called accidents.

Beneath Sienna’s photograph was one word:
“PENDING.”
The authorization page carried the signature of Evelyn Shaw—the mentor who recruited Sienna and taught her to survive.
Then an unknown number sent Sienna a live photograph of Shaw sitting alone in her office.
The missing mechanic called seconds later.
“You found the list,” he said. “Now ask Shaw why you’re the only one still alive.”

The line went dead.
Sienna stared at her mentor’s signature. The explosion had not started the hunt. It had revealed that Sienna had been part of it for years.
