The moment Sienna looked up, every security camera rotated toward her.
One by one, their red lights switched on.
The terrified stranger had vanished into the crowd, but the flash drive remained in her hand. Sienna took an access card from one of the attackers and forced her way into a maintenance room beneath the platform.

She inserted the drive into an isolated terminal.
A folder opened automatically:
PROJECT MIRROR.
Inside were thousands of recordings of Sienna—her face, voice, fingerprints, walking pattern and every security clearance she possessed. There were even videos of her entering buildings she had never visited and meeting people she had never seen.
They were perfect fabrications.
MIRROR could replace live surveillance footage in real time. While the real Sienna stood inside the station, every camera in the city could show her committing a crime somewhere else.
A list contained fourteen undercover agents. Thirteen were marked REPLACED. All thirteen had later disappeared or been declared dead.
Beside Sienna’s name was a countdown:

IDENTITY TRANSFER: 8 MINUTES.
The largest monitor suddenly changed.
It showed Sienna calmly boarding a train on the opposite platform.
But she was still standing in the control room.
Sienna ran outside and saw the impossible: another woman with her exact hair, clothing and face was entering the train. A biometric device around the woman’s wrist carried Sienna’s fingerprints and security credentials.
The stranger emerged from the crowd.
“I built MIRROR,” he confessed. “They’re sending her to FBI headquarters. Once she gets inside, every system will recognize her as you.”
Before Sienna could respond, the station speakers activated.
“Security alert. Sienna Williams is armed and dangerous.”
Her badge immediately stopped working. Commuters received her photograph on their phones. Transit officers began surrounding the platform.
Sienna looked at the live image she had received earlier. It had never been a warning that someone was watching her.

It was proof that the replacement had already begun.
The train doors closed around the woman wearing her face.
If the impostor reached FBI headquarters, she would inherit Sienna’s badge, access and entire life.
And when the countdown reached zero, the real Sienna Williams would officially become the criminal pretending to be herself.
