At 1:43 a.m., Sienna noticed something that should have been impossible.

The evidence recovered during their last failed operation had been altered. Photographs were missing, timestamps had been changed and every reference to the vanished witness had been erased.

Someone had rewritten the case from inside the FBI.

Sienna opened the building’s security recordings. At 12:17 a.m., a man entered the evidence room using authorized access.

It was Marcus Hale—her partner of six years.

The man who had saved her life twice.

She found him in the underground garage, standing beside an unmarked SUV with a flash drive in his hand.

Marcus did not deny it.

“The failed arrest wasn’t a mistake,” he admitted. “The missing witness was delivered exactly where they wanted her.”

Sienna demanded the drive, but Marcus tried to leave. She grabbed his arm and the confrontation exploded into a brutal struggle. He slammed her against the SUV; she blocked his next strike and swept him onto the concrete. Her badge broke free and landed between them.

Marcus recovered, seized the drive and ran—but Sienna caught him before he reached the exit.

After another desperate struggle, she forced him against the vehicle and took the device.

“Open it,” Marcus whispered. “Then decide whether I betrayed you.”

The drive contained bank transfers, surveillance recordings and secret orders connected to a criminal organization known as The Directorate.

But Marcus was not listed as one of its paid agents.

He had spent eighteen months secretly infiltrating it.

Even his confession had been staged because hidden cameras inside the garage were watching them. Their fight had to appear real.

Then Sienna found the file that changed everything.

Every failed mission, murdered informant and destroyed piece of evidence had been authorized by Deputy Director Adrian Cole—the man who had recruited Sienna, trained her and treated her like family.

The missing witness was still alive inside an illegal detention facility. Cole had ordered Marcus to eliminate her, but Marcus had hidden her instead.

Footsteps suddenly echoed through the garage.

Cole stepped from the elevator with two agents beside him.

“Sienna,” he called calmly. “Move away from the traitor and give me the drive.”

Marcus leaned closer.

“If he knows you opened it, neither of us leaves this garage.”

Sienna looked back at the screen. A final encrypted document had appeared automatically.

It contained her photograph and an order approved only seven minutes earlier:

“AGENT WILLIAMS HAS DISCOVERED THE OPERATION. SHE MUST NOT LEAVE THE BUILDING.”

Sienna quietly removed the drive and slipped it beneath her sleeve.

Then she turned toward the man she had trusted for her entire career.

“The drive is empty,” she said.

Cole smiled.

“No, Sienna. It isn’t.”

Behind her, every garage exit locked at the same time.
